The writing was good BUT the warning should have been "Major character death". I (and readers generally) rely on accuracy from authors and "Angsty" doesn't cut it when you kill off a major character.

While I normally agree with you, my thinking was that I wanted the ending to be a surprise. I will edit it, only because I realized I tagged it that way at AO3.

you can code it so that your warning isn't readable until the text is highlighted - that way you can keep from spoiling readers as well as warn for things like character death at the same time.

just use this html code (get rid of the spaces before the brackets):
