My bank has taken to putting little marketing surveys on the ATM screen while the machine is busy shuffling its $20 bills.

Today's poll:

How would you respond if this ATM were out of order?

A) Merely annoyed
B) Complain to someone (not at the bank)
C) Complain to someone at the bank
D) Close account

Oh man.. That kind of stuff makes me so stabby. "How would you respond if this machine wasted your time and attention with a goddamn survey? A) KILL EVERYONE B) KILL EVERYONE AND THEN BURN DOWN THE BANK"

What are they hoping to learn from the survey? "If we leave our machines broken, customers will complain someplace other than the bank so we won't even have to hear them? Awesome."

I imagined there was a meeting that went something like this:

Customer service dude: "Your faulty ATMs are the reason everyone closed their account last year."

Operations dude: "Your bullshit service is why everyone closed their account last year. I'm gonna prove you wrong right now."
