[The PDA turns off with a puff of static--someone blowing straight into the microphone?--and then there is a moment of silence. Some rummaging sounds, mostly metal chinking on metal, and then a guitar and set of drums start playing a familiar tune. Then the lyrics start, softly at first and then gradually getting louder until it's a good jamming ( Read more... )

An old Western?

Yeah, um. It's an old movie style. Uh... a movie is like the echo of music, only it has images to go along with it. We make them in the future for lots of things, but mostly (it would seem) for entertainment. A Western is a movie set in the old West--it's a specific part of the United States that was known for certain types of stereotypes.

I could probably show you more easily than explain it to you.

Like the moving pictures that are sometimes recorded here?

I... well. I am just a floor below you, assuming you're up there right now. It wouldn't take me long to find my way up.

Yep. Have you ever watched a mortal "play"? Theater? It's like that only a replay like what these things can do sometimes. A movie usually last somewhere between an hour or two long.

Good point. Unfortunately I don't have any movies stored on here--not a good idea to try and fly while watching a movie--trust me. [why no, he doesn't know that from experience, never] Or any costume clothing to dress up and act out for you... But I bet they have some books on it at the library. I could find them for you.

With the Indigeo down, I'm going to have to grow a whole bunch to make sure the lot of you don't starve when current supplies run low.

Would there be any way to rig larger sun lamps up in the greenhouse? I could work well into the night that way without having to worry about the smaller one.

Yeah, that's going to be a real bitch. Sorry for the language. It was at least nice to be able to requisition the bare basics of things. Anything, in fact.

But to answer your actual question--yeah, I can do that. Finding the materials will slowly become an issue, so you better ask all you need while you still can. [unamused chuckle] But lamps are easy. You'll have to come over once their finished and let me show you how to unhook and re-hook the power supply though. I can't avoid the material to make another. The small one should work just fine. Lamps are really low on energy consumption.

What sorts of materials do you need? I'm more than willing to look around the compound and find things or anything else you need.

Mostly various metals, but also wiring and its components. Anything that you've seen lying around my apartment. The power sources I create require a special type of metal though, and it's not likely to be find just lying around anywhere. It's pretty rare, unfortunately...

What type of metal is it?

I'll see what I can do, though.

Palladium.

Thanks, I appreciate it. You don't have to do anything though...

Hn.

[chuckles]

After all of the wonderful and kind things you've done for me? It's the least I can do.
