I just finished reading "The Lovely Bones" for probably the sixth time. I adore that book. I cry buckets constantly with it. It is such an amazing tale along with a fantastic and hopeful interpretation of afterlife ( Read more... )

oh man. 'the lovely bones' was such an amazing novel. definitely one of my favourites even though the subject matter isn't exactly happy in any way ... but the writing is so real, and very believable.

pretty much like you said it; "girlfriend can tell a story". and that's what counts the most. and hey! i'm sure your stories are just fine. :)

I liked it a lot, too. If this is your taste in reading, you might also like The Mercy of Thin Air and the Time Traveler's Wife, although they both deal with more adult characters. And if you like those two, you might also like mine. It's called When the Rain Came and I am about to submit it to publishers.
