I am totally with you on all of this. You hit the nail right on the head.
The only time I've ever felt like I loved some place for its accessibility was Disney World. And that's because it's so seamlessly accessible that it didn't even warrant a second thought, and I loved that I could focus my attention and energy elsewhere. But that's Disney World - it was all part of the illusion.
But that's Disney World - it was all part of the illusion. This just totally made me smile. That's pretty awesome. I felt similar about Boston, it wasn't so much the seamless accessibility as the fact that there weren't OMGSTAIRS every time I turned around and the fact that people were like 'wheelchair, whatever life goes on'.
