Not really surprised, TBH.

LJ is bad enough some days, but the speed at which stupidity can come at you on FB... it's one reason I'm glad I never joined up.

Late to the party, but realise that you could think of pretty much anything you like and gather a similar amount of postings. It doesn't mean anything without context, and that context is that there are thousands and hundreds of thousands of people who genuinely care about what happened and are trying their best to help. Images like this, I think, actually do injustice to those people in a way.

If you can say that pointing out the negative helps to downplay the positives then you can also say that pointing out the negatives also helps to accentuate the positives. Though that is all a matter of perspective and does not apply to this case.

Context would also mean that these people actually had a reason or some sort of backing up of something when that happens. And yet, there remains the fact that they have said something bad and offensive and I am offended by it.

I'm not angry at you, I'm just saying that I don't think that it's wrong to call people out on stuff like this especially on a platform like the internet.

Oh, but nor do I. I'm not too happy with stuff like this myself! I'm just saying, asking for an apocalypse makes me think YOU think humanity = all bad (or 99%, whatever). And while there's plenty of that going on, there's also a lot of good stuff going on. I merely wanted to remind you of that. :)
