This is another point I really like about this series: Arkanjur is a deeply wounded man, and Uranborg's love can't reach him yet -- not as in your typical romance fairy tale. First Arkanjur has to learn to stop tearing himself down, and to know his own worth before he can even reach that point. Yet it's Uranborg's unwavering love that helps Ark begin to ( ... )

I also enjoy very much reading about Ark, who's so trapped in self-loathing he simply can't connect to other people, and how a selfless love basically saves him from himself. After all, you need somebody to love you first when you can't love yourself. And yet, he is no damsel in distress, moping around just waiting for help; he's grimly pragmatic with a highly moralistic and realistic view on life, along with some other clashing inconsistencies. I must stop here or I'm liable to continue for ages dissecting his character!

But yes, does gender matter when compared to species? And does species really matter either? I confess that I'm thinking of the ram and doe in the Chinese zoo as I type this. Anyway, the dialogue you selected was probably the most sentimental part of this chapter =3 And as for the last sentence: No comment! Though I’d like to, you’ll find out more later. (^ ~) Though I will say, it's very sweet how he limits himself to kissing Arkanjur's hair X3

Again, thank you so much for continuing to post these translations. This one made me all giddy because not only was I reading over a section covered in the manga, but I really enjoy all that was added here that couldn't fit into the first volume.

Is it weird to say that I like novel Uranborg better than his manga self? He gets more attention here and I really like his dry personality. He's got the makings of a good deadpan snarker. A sweet one, though, especially at the end there. It's less of a surprise to hear how old he is later with the way he acts.

Thank you again : D!! This really made my day.

With the completion of this chapter, we are now on par with chapter two of the manga! It's so lovely having the manga to hand when you're reading the text, and being able to look at such beautiful illustrations for the dramatic scenes which were kept in =3

In a way, I'd say it's only natural that the manga, as an alternative adaptation, chose to concentrate on the more dramatic elements and enhanced any comedic tones based on jokes that have already been established. So again, I'd say it's really only natural you prefer novel-Uru seeing as it's the character as he was originally depicted. A sweet deadpan snarker? Could be! XD

Thankyou so very very much for translating this! I absolutely love this series. Do you have an estimate of when the next chapter will be out?

Thank you for bringing the lack of updates to my attention!! (> <)6 Ever since my laptop died a while ago, I did have to prioritise other commitments and somewhere along the line stopped devoting very much time to translating... Though I never forgot, I hasten to add!

As for an estimate, I'm afraid you'll have to wait until early July for the next chapter as I'm rather tied up at the moment. But a little nudge every so often like this to bring YasaRyuu to the forefront of my mind will not go amiss. o(^_^)v

Umm... I think you're perfectly within your rights to complain. Especially when I've delayed this long due in part to so many tantalising distractions. And my own procrastinations.

Besides, it'll help draw my attention back to translating this so I don't really mind actually!

Having said that, don't expect the next chapter until the Paralympics are over.... > <;

I'm coming into this a bit late, but is this a novel version or something?
