um. i'm really not being rude, i am just confused. i am very new to fiber crafts, and by the time i met my wife, our little girl was almost 2 years old. i think this is something to cover a baby bottom?

again, no offense meant.

No offense taken at all. Until I started cloth diapering I had no idea what to do with these either!

People use soakers to cover cloth diapers. The wool that I used to knit this will absorb any dampness the cloth diaper may give off and pull it away from the cloth diaper. Wool can hold about 1.5 times it's weight in water without leaking (I think).

ok, that makes sense. "my" little girl is not mine biologically, and she was starting to get potty trained by the time i met her and her mom. she is my kid. i would kill and die for her. but i don't know much about tiny babies and what they need.

I used this one: http://hyenacart.com/prod_details.php?id=50270&vid=1253

And I love it because there is no grafting in the crotch AND there are a lot of short rows in the bum.
