[de-lurking]

Is the 'jew hat' done on circular needles or double pointed? and kind OT, when is your next dying day? I was in a yarn store with my mom today and they had crappy yarn and she's convincing me to knit her a (possibly felted) purse of some sort...so i need good yarn to do it with.

It's done mostly on circulars, but could easily be done on double-points.

As to dyeing days - do you want peace fleece or purewool?

I would love the acorn hat pattern if you remember how you did it. It would be awesome to size it down for the baby and do matching hats for the boys! So cute!

They all look great, btw! How much of a pain was the basketweave hat to do?

Basketweave is really easy! (Shh! Don't tell!)

All you have to do is know how to
cast on
knit
purl
decrease

And kitchener stitch is optional!

Did you go by a pattern for the basketweave hat or just incorporate the stitch pattern into basic hat-making? LOL did that even make sense?? I love the look of basketweave, it's so simple and people always seem to ooh and ahh over it..I use it often as a border on my baby blankets

I just made it up myself.

Basically it's knit5 purl5 for seven rows, then knit all for seven rows etc etc etc

I have made others, but (just like my basketweave hats) they always get put on by someone and then that someone refuses to take them off!

I'm about to start another one and sooooon I will have enough peace fleece for a pf scrappy hat.
