We have two cat carriers, and we would like you to have one. Also my dad says that if you want to take the kitty to the animal hospital I told you about, he will go with you, and he might be able to contribute to funding such a venture. He is very concerned about the welfare of the small fuzzy one. And remember if you feel like you have gotten in over your head here, there are shelters that take pets and don't euthanize them. And of course the vet charged you for stuff, that's what they do. That's why we stopped seeing our vet and started going to the animal hospital. It's not cheap, but it's less expensive than the vet and they seem to know what they are doing and care about the animals. So you TAKE CARE OF THAT KITTY, she needs you. And be well yourself. Read lots of books while you are not in school. Many hugs to you, my yargh.
Also, if you have any questions about kitty care, I can ask Matt's mom for you. She has taken care of many cats and has been very helpful to me concerning matters of an Ethelreddish nature. *mwah*
wow, please let your dad know that i really really appreciate his concern and I would love to go with him to see the hospital if I need to in the future. I went to the vet because the shelter we adopted josie from offered a free vet office visit, so I thought I should take advantage of that, and it turned out I had to pay 31 bucks to hear from the doctor about how skinny my cat is like it's almost going to die and having me worry. He was a jerk. But there is this other vet there who's much nicer, and we went to see her again yesterday, and she put my kittie on an antibiotic for her diahrrea and gave her a fluid shot for dehydration. POOR KITTY. and she only charged me for the medicine, not the shots or the checkup. So she was a much better experience. Although the animal hospital still sounds like it is a more practical long-term solution. Do you guys have insurance for your cats?
Thank you so much for caring though, to you and your dad. I really really appreciate it. Hope you do well in school as well. ;) *hug*
Two of my co-workers work with a volunteer organization that provides "foster homes" for cats until the cats can be adopted into permanent homes. One of them already has three cats of her own, and has taken on two more. One cat's diabetic and one has one eye. :(
They've told me a lot about just how many stray cats and dogs are running around out there and how insanely difficult it is to save a significant number of them. The problem is too overwhelming for the government to deal with, so volunteer organizations spring up and run foster homes and trap-spay/neuter-release programs.
Not sure what my point is supposed to be. I guess it's just that there are a lot of good people out there trying to help, and that serves as a reminder that the world's not entirely grim and heartless.
