When we sleep, the cat hunts.

I went to bed the other night after falling asleep reading blogposts. During the night, the cat accessorized my laptop with a thoughtful gift: an external mouse.

Clearly your cat loves you very much. When ours catches a mouse she totally hogs it, and we have to force her to drop it eventually.

Perhaps. I think she's just very efficient. I now have a morning ritual where I check the locations she likes to stash kills. I'd say I pick up a mouse or rabbit every third day. And she's never seen me catch and kill a mouse, so perhaps this is just pity on her part.

It might also have something to do with the fact that ours is an indoor cat, and thus the kills are rare and precious to her. *g*

Perhaps you should take the hide and fashion it into a proper mouse cover. Heck, I imagine there's a long tail business in selling mouse-hided computer mice. Oh, did I say "long tail"?
