Title: Colors Author: ann89103 Fandom: Yami no Matsuei Paring: Muraki/Tatsumi Rating: R Warning: Non-consensual sex Word Count: 640 Prompt: Muraki/Tatsumi - breaking down Tatsumi's walls. Summary: Muraki adds on to his collection
I've never read / seen Yami no Matsuei (though I know the general idea), but this is *very* well done. Especially loving the second person singular, which many try but fewer succeed at. :D
Really nice Muraki POV - the second person POV fits his twisted mindset beautifully. You've made an unusual pairing work, because yes, Muraki views everything as a challenge.
Wow! This is terrific! And I could be mistaken, but I believe this is one of the prompts I gave! And I'm ever so glad I did, because, my gosh, did this just push all my buttons, and make me love Tatsumi and the twisted dynamics of Muraki's view of him (and his other two 'dolls') all that much more. What a fabulous take on this scenario! *hugs poor Tatsumi*
There's so much to love here, including "They did not expect you to target someone they considered unassailable, powerful, safe" as that is exactly right - no one would expect our resident penny-pinching, stoic, ShadowMaster to be targetted and made vulnerable. And "For you Tatsumi is ever-changing, subtle variations on the color grey." seems a perfect way to categorize Tatsumi
( ... )
It would be fascinating to read about these two characters facing off more often - I suspect there is more vulnerablility and darkness in Tatsumi's inner nature than even he would care to admit - an Muraki just loves peeling away at other character's psyches.
