This is delightful. I view Solomon mostly as an intrusion into the Florian-Noir story, but you've made him a "person of interest" here, and perhaps changed my mind about him.

Heh. You could hear me squealing for miles when Solomon showed up in Morocco, because I'd been quite sure he wouldn't be seen again after Noir and company had left Paris. (Well, not literally for miles, perhaps, but yeah, I was pretty happy.)

Ray and Solomon - what a delight! I love how they irritate each other. Well, Solomon does most of the irritating, but Ray plays right along. The dialogue here is wonderful. Please, would you consider posting this to gorgeous_carat and higuriyou? Or may I post a link so other fan's don't miss their chance to read story?

Thank you very much! I had a great time writing this - even if I got a little frustrated sometimes with the sparse details about Solomon's past that were sprinkled through canon. (I suppose it makes sense, since GC isn't really /about/ Solomon after all, but ... ).

Since I'm a teensy tiny bit of a review-slut and would like to know if people were to read one of my stories, I think I'd like to maybe tweak this ficlet a little and then post it somewhere under my own username - thanks for the suggestion/offer!

If you'd noticed the Solomon/Noir prompt in the list of springtreats - that one was mine, so yeah, when I got this prompt I think I spent about an hour squealing with glee - followed by weeks of wondering how I ever could have thought I'd be able to write this. ^^;

Solomon's promise was prompted mostly by Laila, really - she said at some point that Ray/Noir had cost Solomon his job, and I chewed on that comment for a long, long time, because it just didn't seem like Ray to deliberately get Solomon fired, for all that the man annoys him. (Besides, how, exactly, would a citizen be able to get a member of the police-force fired?)

I had a ball writing this (once the muses had settled for a plot) so I'm superglad to hear you enjoyed reading it, too.
