Can't you find a government foreclosure? I looked into that a few years ago when I thought I was going to be able to move out, and all they required was a down payment. The monthly payments were DIRT CHEAP (way less than we pay per month in rent in this shit hole) and they were practically begging us to take it off their hands, there are so many of them.

*hug* I wish I could offer constructive advice but I don't know anything about the US housing market. I worry about the same thing for when the time comes to move out of rented accommodation. But, there have to be nice roomies out there!

And yay for Muse, they're amazing aren't they? I've seen them a couple of times.
