Re: must-win comment. I think if you care about the division, NYY should win at least a few games with the Red Sox. I don't really care about the division a ton; just get in however you can. But I do understand those who wanna win it.

Not shitting on the whole wild card thing, because I do like the idea and I'm glad of the times we've gotten in via it; I just think some teams, especially the Yankees and Red Sox (regardless of how many times Joe Girardi says he's all about the home field advantage), get really complacent and lazy once they've wrapped up at least the wild card.

My main dislike is the fact that once entry to the postseason is wrapped up with a nice bow on top, the last couple of weeks you might as well put the little 'i' between the 'M' and 'L' in MLB, since the games are pretty much minor league games. It is probably the most boring part of the baseball season for me, unless the wild card goes down to the wire and the games actually mean something.

I can see why so many people lose interest in baseball before the postseason even starts - if anything, especially in light of MLB wanting to expand the postseason, this is one reason of many that justifies shortening the regular season a little.

I know. Isn't it epic? ^_^ Hope they have some more of that in them tommorow. They're gonna need it and unlike other times, I'm hoping that for once Burnett actually has a good start tomorrow. I mean, it probably won't happen, but we really need it since our starting pitching's been....less than adequate as of late. =P
