yanie no hitorigoto: American series (compared to Japanese dramas)

There is SO little number of American series that I've followed. I guess my one and only ALL-TIME Favorite would be the popular sitcom, FRIENDS. I've watched all episodes of ten seasons over and over, so many times, that I lost counts and had memorized the lines without realizing it. Whenever I re-watch any FRIENDS episode accidentally at Star ( Read more... )

I do agree with you about American series. Many long running series has no consistent plot and after a while the writing went downhill and you just want the show to end. HEROES was good for the first season but it was draggy. I love comic book but HEROES somehow over dramatize all of the characters that I dropped it in the 2nd season. I would recommend HOUSE MD.

LoL~ I think I complained about the same thing about American TV Series! Btw, I'm saltnlight from SCS ^^ (originally from Indonesia too~) I've been following your blog for a while and can't resist to comment on this one :p American series tend to be really good at season 1 and then went downhill from there ^^;; Heroes and Lost are perfect examples of that. They're just really good at season 1, but then when it got to season 2+, the story just doesn't really make sense anymore. It's almost like they're making it up as they go (well, that's what they kind of did...) So, yeah, that's my biggest complains about American TV series too. Episodic series like Friends and CSI won't really suffer that much though because they're episodic anyway- they could go on forever until whenever they feel like it.

ah totally agree

i mean american series r seriously lame..coz it ends up with who sleeps with who...meaningless

ah for me it was ''fresh price of bel air'' its hilarious everytime i watch it

i like jpdrama bcoz its 11-12 eps..wich is good ..finish it all in one day lol

and i noticed script changing in krdramas (ah i dislike it lately bcoz of 20-21 eps...)

but i have to say i dislike in jpdrama:

the jdramas that sounds like lame anime..too ideal

after watching kimutaku dramas itz hards to watch the rest of jdramas

have a nice day

I agree~~~ American series is annoyingly inconsistent. >.<
I quit following Heroes, but I'm still following Grey's Anatomy (although it's totally a soap, I like the soap XD), Gossip Girl (getting borring here and there, but still enjoyable somewhat) and Lie to Me (this is new, and short. Dunno if they'll continue next year or what). Action/mystery/thriller series kinda tend to be better (24, Alias), dramas are just mostly hopeless XD sinetron sih bye bye aja XD

btw, for J-dramas, is the script really unchangeable? Because during Last Friends, there were rumours saying that since the domestic violence scenes was getting huge ratings, they moved the DV from just a background story to the main, and Sousuke doesn't die till the end; he was supposed to die in midseason. This resulted in other storylines being explored poorly
