Manifestations

So I have interacted with few people here on Lj. I am not sure why that is, but I decided to whittle down the reading list to people I know, who are entertaining or that I interact with a lot. ways to pull back... labelleizzy September 3 2009, 03:46:27 UTC
1. Go cold turkey. No LJ for a week, see how it feels.
2. Scheduled usage. twice a week, maybe, at a specific time.
3. cut down reading list using filters.
4. defriend people, same basic idea as 3, but less flexible if you change your mind.

If you stop posting, I'll miss you. You are doing interesting things and examining your life, and I enjoy hearing about/reading about both those kinds of things.

But I hear you about the want-to-do the real life stuff more.

Yep, the online can be addictive, especially when there's less IRL connection than is ideal. I think a simple pulling back is a great idea, for starters. LJ will still be here, and so will FB. I find that I go through phases with such things: sometimes I'm a little frenetic online, and others I barely visit.

Lately I've been "Facebooky" as someone put it, perhaps a little bit too much so. I like sticking to the one or two posts per day on FB and the one to three posts per week on LJ -- if I want to share at all, that is.
