Ok, I never saw those in the mag so I don't know the real instructions, but if I were to try and recreate them here's what I would do.
Buy some burlap and treat it with a stiffening agent, like the starch you can buy to starch shirts with. Then cut a piece that is as wide as you would want it to be and long enough so that it can be folded 2.5 times. Fold it up as far as you would want the "tent" to stand, then add glue or another adhesive to the sides of the extra length and fold that up halfway on one side of the tent. Then you would have a folded tent with a little pocket on one of the sides. Then you could just print up cards on white stock with the names and table numbers and slide them into the little pocket.
Not sure if that would work in real life (or if my instructions make any sense) but it would be worth a try. :)
Wow, girl, you are a serious creative genius. I am going to try this too - I will let you know how it goes. These are prefect for our "guy" table cards. They would look cute with pine cones too, don't you think?
