What did you recently finish reading?

Good Man Friday: 12th in the Benjamin January series by Barbara Hambly, and which finds Ben (plus his half-sister, his niece, his half-sister's lover and his half-sister's lover's wife) in Washington DC investigating a disappearance. Good Man Friday is sooooo good. I too loved the town ball subplot. I feel like Ben needs to start up a league back in New Orleans. (Rose would probably play too. Hannibal could cheer.)

I'm disappointed to hear that Shades of Milk and Honey isn't very good. It has such a fantastic premise, and a really lovely title.

Awwww, that's a nice idea! Hopefully they could find space to play where the ball wouldn't get eaten by an alligator.

And it is disappointing - I'm hoping at least the sisters' relationship will get a bit less unhealthy by the end.

I have gotten better at giving up on books, but I still feel guilty when I do it, even if I'm not enjoying it. (Recently gave up on a book that in theory sounds amazing: gay wild west with magic, really dark, but was boring me. I was kind of both guilty and sad about that one. It could have been so goood...).
