Descendants of Darkness (闇の末裔 Yami no Matsuei?) is a fantasy manga series created by Yoko Matsushita. The story revolves around shinigami. These Guardians of Death work for Enma Daiō, the king of the dead, sorting out the expected and unexpected arrivals to the Underworld

NUDITY IN THE OPENING!!

B-BUT HE'S A MINOR! ;;

I used to be quite fond of this show; I read several volumes of the manga, as well. Ahhh I wish that. Boy's love shows dealt with the lovely build up of characters behind them, since this one has some pretty messed up leads, let alone villains (rather like Mirage of Blaze, which I am also fond of).

Heh, it seems odd to go back, now that I'm more familiar with anime....

I will always like Yami's art. It's a very pretty show. The anime, being short, cut out a lot of the random crap I didn't like in the manga. But, being short, it also didn't really dig into anyone's history, which would have been interesting (shikigami world would have been a lot of fun).

The downsides... themes, CG, a lot of things I now know are tropes. The weird obsession Muraki has with Tsuzuki's body. (Er, that probably goes for everyone in the show, come to think of it.)

Still fun, in small doses; probably not something I'd ever show to my friends here. ^^

Muraki was interested in Tsuzuki's body because of the rare qualities it possessed, such as the ability to heal quickly and go without food for long periods of time. Muraki wanted to revive his step-brother to kill him again because his step-brother killed his family. At least, that was the idea in the anime. I don't remember what happened in the manga. I really should reread it.
