Is it expensive to live in Korea? I really want my first overseas teaching experience in schools to be in Japan but I've been told that China is cheaper to live in, but wanted to ask you about Korea as well.
Korea is definitely cheaper than Japan. The food is a bit more expensive than in other countries (mostly fruit and stuff), but the overall living cost is pretty cheap. The transportation is really good. I live about an hour and a half from Seoul and can get there for about 3-4 USD if I take the subway.
The best thing about living in Korea is that the transportation is really good. You will do a lot of walking, but you pretty much never have to drive. The buses an subway go till about 11:30 on weeknights and 12 on weekends, and there are always taxis available 24/7.
If you spend wisely you can live pretty well. Most English teachers make about 2.1 million (1 thousand) and up a month and if they are smart with their money can send home almost half of their paycheck.
Do you know if there is any news on whether or not Tales of Graces or Tales of Grace F will be released in NA? Unless it has and I failed to notice? XP Because I am dying to play it, but I really don't want to try and play it with a walkthrough to translate me through it :(
And yes, if it's a choice between working fast food or teaching English, I'd definitely go for the latter, if I was you. I hope you can find something that'll work out for you :)
I haven't heard news of a release at all. I heard a rumor from somewhere that Nintendo offered to license it, but Namco said no.
At this point in time I'm giving up on it and just playing the Japanese version. I'd rather have the game in English, but if I can't then so be it. I've played enough Japanese tales games to where I can't complain about not wanting to play a game in Japanese any longer.
Well, there's something to be said for having a job that makes decent money, although if you truly hate it I think you'll find the money matters less than enjoying yourself. I think if you did stay in Korea, you would probably get more serious about learning the language, so you'd eventually know enough of it to make it less trouble in those spots where you do need to keep asking for help.
I'll definitely keep you in prayer over jobs.
