I, myself, am braindead and the only think I can think of is to give you MORE EXAMPLES. ...though weeding through the good and bad sometimes sucks. There are cosplay stuff there too though... mixed in... eh. *shrug*

Aw, those guys are so cute, and some are very creative in their adaptations.

I'd suggest a solid color body outfit and a hat like Vileplume or Parasect, something that has an iconic feature like that which would identify the Pkmn no matter what else you have.

Or go all blue and be Wobbuffet with the act.

Based on that link, I could easily do Hitmonlee. I've got that outfit practically if I messed with my sleeves a little, but unless I did something Hitmonlee like, I don't think people would recognize me.
