I think half my flist has one and they're attached to lj. Two of them use lj cuts, which is nice, and one does not. It's a real pain to wade through un cut Twitter posts... :/
*obviously isn't fond of it*
Aside from that, I really have no clue what it's even FOR.
Twitter is basically a blog where you're supposed to make one-liner posts. It's best used for "Hey check out this page about cool topic X" or "I need a new IM program, recommendations please?"
I use it because through the course of a day, I've got a lot of things I want to share, but I don't feel right making an entire new blog post JUST for "haha kittens riding roombas".
LoudTwitter then takes all my twitter posts from one day and posts them to my livejournal, so I don't end up making seventeen one-line lj posts, but still get to share with my non-twitter friends.
I have one. I mostly use it as a sub for LJ when I'm at work, because I have it linked through my phone. I'll send something random while on breaks and such, and also will receive the text indicators that other people have posted stuff. I explained it to my co-worker as 'mass texting by only sending one text' because anyone who is following you and has updates sent to their phones gets the message you sent to Twitter and can respond to you.
I've got one! It's basically like the Facebook status thing, except that's all there is. Great for spamming when you don't want to quadruple post in your LJ about random shit.
