OMG. If something like that flew into my room, I'd hide. In the bathroom. O.O It's not right, for bugs to be this big!

I do know exactly what you mean but I'm okay as long as I know where the bug is and it's not on me. Plus I felt sorry for it because it was on its back and it couldn't turn itself over *bless* and they are so rare, I've only ever seen a dead one and that was when I was very young! It was an odd experience actually because I had thought it was raining but Matt found it and the sound was its wings beating on our wooden floor ^^;!

That's really great that you're so close to your parents now. I hope you get to visit often. ^_^

I think I'd freak out if a bug like that flew into my house...

We will, definitely, and Matt's family are close too. It is so nice to be able to attend family dos that we would have had to miss before because of the cost of attending.

I can totally understand that reaction but it was really cute in the way only really ugly things can be ^_~! I actually like bugs - I just don't like ones that bite or having them on me ^^;!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your parents *g* And I can only imagine how great it is now that you're living so close now after needing to catch a plane.

Back in January, I also decided that I needed to read real books as opposed to fics only. I mean, before Internet, I used to read actual books all the time, then internet came and then fanfics came and I just stopped reading, almost. I thought it sucked. So I went back to reading and dude, it's awesome *g*

I'd ordered one of the Ukiah novels last month - the one with his brother and his lover? - but amazon forgot to tell me that they were out of stock so in the end, I had to give it up *pout*

But anyway, thanks for the other recs, I'll definitely check them out. Aren't those books Kati loves too, btw? I'm pretty sure she mentioned Swordspoint several times...

I have the Ukiah Oregon as ebooks - a friend of mine found them via emule. Interested?

I did, it was a lovely day ^_^!

I used to read actual books all the time

I used to devour books before the 'net, it is so nice to be doing that again.

the one with his brother and his lover?

That's the one I need to order next *pouts*! Oh well, I've got plenty to keep me going at the mo.

Aren't those books Kati loves too, btw?

I don't know about loved, she liked Swordpoint but found The Fall of the Kings boring so didn't read it.

It is wonderful that you can now meet up with your parents like that.

It really is, so we are trying to meet up regularly ^_^!

That is one BIG beetle!

It was about 2 inches long, and it is the largest beetle found in the UK. They are harmless and have become very rare as their preferred habitat is becoming scarce, I believe. I was so excited to see one alive ^_^!

*hugs back*

You know, I just realized that I haven't read any fanfiction for months now. Not just GW but NONE at all. I kind of lost interest in it and got totally hooked on real books printed on paper. And it's so cool to get back to "true" reading. To be honest, I don't miss fanfiction at all. From time to time, when I do feel the pang to read a fanfic, I go back to Magnificent Seven but that's it. Books are much better and feel REAL compared to fanfics.

Really? I think I would because I do like reading stories featuring characters from series' I've watched. But I have realised that I'm missing out by not reading novels (and I suspect it is better for my eyes too).
