[One-shot] Catch Me

Summary: 5 times Inoo fell down + 1 time Keito caught him.

One
Inoo was late for his morning class so he was rushing down the university hallway, with his sling bag and hair flying everywhere.
He was so concentrated on getting to class that he didn’t notice the yellow ‘wet floor’ sign. Inoo slipped and fell, his papers scattered all over the floor, back aching and late to his lesson.
Two
It wasn’t his fault he was in a bad mood, and it wasn’t his fault that the choreographer kept screaming at them. Well, okay, maybe the latter was his fault.
Inoo had trouble dancing to ‘Your Seed’ because of Yabu and Takaki. He caught the couple carelessly making out in the dressing room and now the scene kept replaying in his head.
He was jealous. He envied them for having so much love and being so carefree when he had to focus on university and being an entertainer.
Being caught up in his reverie, he took a misstep and tripped on his own two feet. He cursed his life and at the pain that had started to swell his ankle.
Three
It wasn’t easy being Inoo Kei. His life was straining him and he couldn’t care less at what the tabloids were going to say as he came out of the bar: drunken with two other friends.
He was tipsy; swishing from side to side down the pavement while his friends were walking behind him, using each other as support.
For a person who was drunk, Inoo walked pretty fast. Occasionally, he would stop for a few seconds and shout ‘ROAR!’ before continuing his pace.
His vision was becoming blurry and he was so exhausted that he didn’t notice the object in front of him. After a couple more steps, he hit the lamp post with a loud ‘bang!’ and fell back, seeing stars before slipping into unconsciousness.
Four
Inoo’s face tinged a deep, dark crimson as the audience laughed at his clumsiness. He wasn’t careful with his steps as he got on stage so he stumbled upon a few cables.
Getting up, he brushed his clothes and bowed to the viewers, apologizing. Some shouted ‘it’s okay!’ and some screamed ‘Inoo-chan is still pretty~!’ while a few even yelled ‘marry me, Inoo-chan~!’
He bowed once again and glared at the cables, remembering to cut it later when the show ended.
Five
The lake water was murky and Inoo didn’t like it one bit. Hikaru and Daiki had invited him to come relax and enjoy nature.
He admitted, it was quite fun as they played in the lake (even though Inoo still had doubts about it) splashing the dirty water; soaking each other.
Inoo grew curious when he saw Daiki whispering to Hikaru. He watched as the latter nodded and suddenly, both of them were facing him, smirks on their faces.
Daiki came closer to Inoo and pushed him so he fell into the shallow lake. His hands and legs hurt as it hit tiny pieces of rocks underneath the cloudy water.
He squinted as he looked up, expecting to see Daiki but was faced with Hikaru instead. The younger boy crouched down so that he was eye level with the other. Hikaru held out his hands and began tickling Inoo’s sides. The older boy laughed, struggling to get back up again as the water around them splashed in the air, shining like crystals.
The shortest boy giggled as well, seeing how happy Inoo was made him feel the same way. He had noticed the pretty boy getting stressed over the past few weeks and was glad he could help him.
Hikaru stopped tackling Inoo when he thought the boy had had enough. He got out of the water, along with Daiki, and onto the shore.
“At least give me a hand after pushing me into this filthy water!” Inoo bellowed.
The duo just laughed as Inoo brought himself out of the lake, a wide smile plastered to his face.
Plus One
Inoo yawned and scratched his head as he came down the stairs to the JUMP household. He was still drowsy so he didn’t notice the slippery substance that was on the steps.
His eyes jerked open and closed again instantly when he went flying down. He was waiting for any kind of pain to rush through his body but instead of feeling the cold, hard floor, he felt a pair of strong arms wrapped around his slim frame.
Slowly, he opened his eyes and a pair of warm brown ones was staring at him. Inoo’s heart beat increased when he realized that it belonged to Keito. He was dazzled for a moment, but was snapped back to reality by the young boy’s voice.
“Whoa there, Inoo-kun. Careful next time,” he said as he helped Inoo stand up.
Inoo looked at the crime scene. The substance he slipped on was white and creamy. He sighed and face palmed himself, “Did Chii and Ryu have sex on the stairs again?”
“Yeah.”
“Those boys, seriously, they need to stop doing that. Someone might die from falling down.”
“By someone, do you mean you?” Keito grinned, showing his white pearly teeth.
Inoo blushed, his heart skipping and butterflies danced in his tummy. He spoke before he was charmed by Keito again, “Anyways, thanks. For saving me.”
“No problem. Someone has to save the pretty boy.”
Inoo blinked.
“And yes, by someone, I meant me and the pretty boy is you,” Keito beamed and kissed the older boy’s cheek.
A week later
It’s been a week since Inoo and Keito went out together. They went on dates and started to get to know each other more. Each passing day Inoo fell more in love with Keito as he discovered his little traits and habits.
They were walking down the street, when Inoo tripped on a stone and almost fell, but Keito caught him just in time.
The younger boy sighed, “Kei, you should seriously look where you walk. You’ve been falling this whole week.”
“Well, I can’t help it. You keep enchanting me and I keep falling…for you.”
Keito blushed, “Cheesy.”
“But you still love me,” Inoo poked his cheeks.
“Whatever,” Keito blushed even more, trying to dodge the conversation, “now c’mon, I’m hungry.”
He grabbed Inoo’s hand (so he won’t trip again) and they continued their journey with Inoo’s teasing voice fading as they went further into the distance.
