They Say Good Things Take Time - Fan Fic Update, Chapter 10 -> Anything plain can be lovely.

Mar 07, 2010 16:44

“Well then I think we should find out… I’ll pick you up tomorrow again.” Yamapi looked at Tegoshi with bright eyes, smiling reassuringly.

“Tomorrow?..Er…But..”

“No buts’! I missed lunch today so I’ll make up for that tomorrow.” Tegoshi replied Pi’s smile with an equally bright one of his own before gently pulling part of his blanket around Yamapi’s shoulder. They lay there until both of them couldn’t bear the cold any longer, listening to music and enjoying each other’s closeness. Yamapi then drove Tegoshi back home before returning to his own apartment.

Whenever, wherever we were together we were so happy, it was our time. It doesn’t have to end here now, because I know we belong together. Let’s make this our time again.

[Chapter 10]

The next day Yamapi woke up early, he was full of energy and ready to take Tegoshi to a place he knew the boy would love.

Yamapi had been looking forward to today’s plan all night long. His excitement made it hard for him to actually get some of his well deserved sleep but he didn’t mind at all. Yamashita Tomohisa was simply way too happy about the thought he’d get to spend tomorrow with the person he loved most. Last night had been great, playing around with Tegoshi made him remember all the fun they used to have just by being together, now he missed those times more than before.

At 11:00 AM he stood in front of Tegoshi’s doorstep, top to bottom neatly dressed, a pair of dark denim, a white v-neck shirt underneath a grey hoodie and a black coat with fur rims around his shoulders. He had to ring the bell three times before a sleepy and totally horrible looking Tegoshi finally welcomed him with a tired smile.

“Woah Tegoshi, are you alright?” Yamapi couldn’t say a proper hello when he saw Tegoshi’s weak appearance.

“Hey~  Yeah I’m fine. You actually came..?”

“Sure.. you are so not fine! I mean did you actually look into the mirror today?”

“eh, yes..kinda.” Tegoshi rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands, trying hard not to look at the sweetly dressed Yamapi in front of him.

“And I told you I would pick you up today didn’t I?” Yamapi couldn’t believe what he was seeing, not only would this totally ruin his plans but not to mention how worried he suddenly got, and he didn’t like to worry about someone, especially about Tegoshi.

“You did, I know but I thought..well maybe you wouldn’t really want to …I mean..”

“Ok. Whatever. Cut the crap and get back inside I’m making you a soup and you stay in bed!”

The older man demanded in a harsh tone, shoving the boy inside his own apartment.

“W-wait, no! I can go! Anywhere! I am fine, really.”

Tegoshi nearly yelled making a horrified expression, brandishing with his arms and hands wild in the air.

“You don’t really look that fine to me, Tegoshi.”

“I am though,” he protested, “I just had a shower and maybe I need another coffee or two but then I am just perfectly fine and ready to go.”

Tegoshi didn’t like it when others said anything about how he looked especially if he didn’t feel well. He also hated it to feel sick and being unable to go out with Yamapi was the worst that could happen right now. He really didn’t want to stay home even if that meant that he would suffer a little but he said to himself that it’d be worth it.

“I would rather have you stay in bed though.”

“Please, I was looking forward to go somewhere with you, you know..” he said shyly, looking down onto the kitchen floor.

“You did?” Yamapi reached out and lifted the boy’s chin with his finger, “I’m happy to hear that you know.”

Tegoshi smiled shyly and nodded, slightly blushing under the other’s stare, thinking “Of course I did!” but he was unable to say it aloud. Not if Yamapi looked at him like that, and not when he was almost too close for comfort. Tegoshi wondered why he suddenly felt so weak against Yamapi, it wasn’t like he had never touched him or stared at him like that….

“Hmm… I guess I can’t make you stay in bed no matter what, you’ll always get what you want, ne?” Yamapi added, poking the other boy’s cheek before leading him into the bedroom…[to get dressed properly of course, now don’t get dirty thoughts already xD]

“Put on some super warm clothes and I’ll make us some coffee to go~” Yamapi yelled back from the kitchen, getting out some cups and turning on the coffeemaker.

Tegoshi smiled to himself as he got dressed into a pair of white jeans, a pink pullover and a brown furry scarf. It felt nice to have someone around, even though he didn’t like others to care for him, he enjoyed having Yamapi pay attention to him. Tegoshi was especially happy that the other showed some of his affection again and he appreciated every second he was given. He said to himself that he was going to return it this time for sure, and get back to where they used to be because right now this didn’t feel right. It used to feel right to lie in Yamapi’s arms and it felt right to be touched by him, it felt right to cuddle up to Yamapi on rainy days, it felt right to meet him at a busy pizza place just to be taken home by him, it felt right to kiss him and it felt right to get angry at him for silly things but being on his own and away from the other didn’t feel right and it never will.

On the way out of his room he grabbed a handful of necklaces, rings and the usual things he liked to wear that made him feel good and pretty. He liked to feel pretty, especially when he got to be with Yamapi. He knew Yamapi didn’t really care about all that sparkle and glitter, Tegoshi though felt better wearing some shiny things, especially a bunch of silver rings and his favorite bracelet, which was a thick and rather heavy silver piece of jewelry.

Turning around the bathroom corner he bumped into Yamapi, holding two cups of coffee. “Ne where are your purses Tegoshi? I couldn’t find them where I thought they used to be…..”

“eh, you mean my bags?” Tegoshi raised an eyebrow.

Yamapi grinned at him widely, “Yeah well I guess that’s what I meant. Did you move things?”

“Actually I have re-decorated a little, why do we need one?” Tegoshi pouted, he didn’t like it when Yamapi made fun of his accessories, which he had like tons of. But still he didn’t think it was girly to own about 35 bags or 20 pairs of shoes like Yamapi said it was.

Yamapi held up the cups of coffee and gave the boy his ‘what do you think why’ look.

“Why can’t we just put them into the car like that? I don’t want to carry a bag today…it doesn’t go with my outfit.”

Tegoshi replied in an annoyed tone, walking past Yamapi and towards a closet in the hallway.

Yamapi followed him silently; he suppressed his comments and just waited to see what will happen next. Tegoshi picked out a studded black tote bag with silver skulls.

“Gimme the cups, please.” He said, opening the bag.

Yamapi handed him one after the other, smiling victoriously, “I can carry it if you want.” He offered once Tegoshi stepped into his boots, jacket and was ready to go.

“It’s ok, I got it.” The boy replied stubbornly, opening the door, waiting for Yamapi to walk past him.

Once out the door Yamapi lead them to his car, “Seriously I can carry it if you don’t want to.”

“Yamashita-kun.” Tegoshi suddenly stopped walking; he waited until the other turned around questioningly. “If I say I can carry it then I mean that I really don’t have a problem with carrying it, alright?”

Yamapi nodded and grinned at the offended boy, “I know.” He said teasingly.

Tegoshi looked annoyed “…then why do you have to keep going on about it?”

“Sorry, “He apologized, “I missed messing with you.” still wearing that grin, “Or rather I missed watching how cute you are when you are annoyed and try to be angry at me.”

The boy walked past him, “You are the worst you know?” and disappeared in to Yamapi’s car. Yamapi just smiled and followed him.

Once the car came to a halt Tegoshi stepped out, smiling brightly.

“Wah~ You know I love Odaiba!”

Yamapi just nodded and watched the boy shining like a shooting star dancing in the skies as they walked off the parking lot, toward a crowd of people.

They did everything there was to do and enjoyed any second of it. Yamapi’s tension rose to a high and he felt like this was going to be the best day of his life, he thought had finally done something right as he watched the younger boy at the shore of the artificial beach, humming songs and smile brightly the entire day.

Tegoshi, who was completely enjoying their trip to the place he had come before many countless times, he thought that today was different and the best out of all days he had come here. It sure wasn’t like he and Yamapi had never been out together but somehow this seemed like this was some sort of first date experience, everything felt new and exciting, walking next to Yamapi and talking about bring topics suddenly became more intense than ever. He had those annoying butterflies in his stomach that seemed to go insane inside his body and he tried hard to stay calm but he guessed that he gave it away long ago when he noticed Yamapi’s stupid smirks whenever he had said something, which probably came out a little different than he had planned. Oh well, he thought he couldn’t care less because after all he knew how much Yamapi still meant to him and he wanted him to know exactly that.

It had gotten already dark outside as both walked out of a restaurant. Tegoshi sat down on a bench close the pier and Yamapi followed him silently. Both of them sat there for a little while, not saying anything before Yamapi got up and walked towards the pier. He rested his hands on the black railing, watching the boats on the water below.

When he turned to his left he looked straight into Tegoshi’s big shiny eyes, he hadn’t noticed the boy followed him. They shared a long and silent moment, looking at each other with warm smiles on their faces and eventually Yamapi broke the silence.

“Ne, I want to apologize for being selfish every now and then.” He paused for a moment, turning his face away from the other, staring down into the black sea. “I’m sorry that I asked you to stop calling me Yamashita-kun, yet I still call you by your last name. You don’t have to call me by my first name but I would very much want to start calling you by yours if that’s ok with you.”

“Of course it is.” Tegoshi opened his eyes wide in surprise at Yamapi’s words and the sudden topic he came up with. “I’ve told you before that you could, ne - yet you never did. It made me sad at times you know but I don’t blame you because you’re right it feels a little weird especially in front of others….but I’m really happy if we can start now.”

The boy smiled at Yamapi as he turned around with a smile of his own, he placed his hand on the others and gave it a tight squeeze.

They laced their fingers together and Yamapi pulled Tegoshi along almost running away from the sea, not really paying attention where he was going and fast enough to make the boy on the other side of his hand trip over his feet.

Back at the beach they walked along the seashore holding hands. Yamapi noticed Tegoshi was shivering every  now and then.

“Are you cold? Should we go home now?”

Tegoshi turned to look at the other’s face, with a bright smile he just shook his head and looked back down at the sand beneath his feet. They walked a little further when Tegoshi suddenly stopped, pulling tightly at Yamapi’s arm.

“I want to go there!”

Yamapi followed where the boy’s finger pointed towards.

“Where?” he asked, looking at a tall house in the distance. “There is nothing!”

“Noo not there, here, the boat. I want to go on a boat before we leave, yeah? What do you say? Can we go?..pleeeeease!?”

Of course Tegoshi’s smile was so bright it was almost blinding Yamapi and how could he say no that smile anyways?

The older men nodded, “Sure let’s go!” and with that he let the excited boy pull him along toward a big boat rental booth.

They got onto one of the big ships that were lead by some people instead of a small one where they might have had to drive the boat themselves, cause neither of them hat either experience in driving a boat nor did they want to actually drive one.

Both enjoyed the ride across the water in the dark where many colorful lights brightly glimmered in the distance. There was also music playing, soft and beautiful sounds, as well were they served some champagne by one of the hosts.

They were leaning against the railing, watching the few boats pass by as they drove past Rainbow Bridge a second time.

Yamapi moved closer to Tegoshi and whispered something in his ear that made the boy giggle and hit the older man playfully on his chest with his fist. Yamapi just smiled and poked the boy’s nose, earning another hit to his chest.

The older man slowly drove Tegoshi back against the handrails, when he hit the metal bars with his bum he wrapped his hands around it to steady himself. Yamapi came closer until they were only a few inches apart from each other and both of them felt the sudden heat and crackling of their hearts as they began to beat faster by the second. When they could sense that they would most likely share a sweet kiss just now there was a clanking sound to be heard.

“AH! CRAP!”

Tegoshi yelled out like he got hit by something. Yamapi backed up quickly and looked around to see what the hell got into the boy out of the blue. Tegoshi looked pale like snow as he spoke…

“My bracelet. I lost my bracelet. It…it fell into the water..!”

Yamapi looked down into the water where it had fallen into; trying to figure out how deep it could be there.

“Wait I’ll get it back!”

“No Pi don’t!”

The boy screamed, grabbing Yamapi tightly by his shirt.

Tegoshi sighed, “Don’t worry it’s just jewelry, it’s replaceable!”

“But you loved that bracelet!?”

“I know but like I said it is replaceable.” The boy winked at him with a slightly sad expression but he wasn’t lying, when he said he didn’t want Pi to worry about it.”

Yamapi nodded, wrapping his arm around the boy, he pulled him closer and said that he was sorry that he lost his bracelet because of him. Tegoshi of course didn’t think it was his fault and so they started arguing…..

Eventually they stopped, agreeing that it wasn’t anybody’s fault, and headed back home. Yamapi dropped Tegoshi off by his house, promising to check on him tomorrow morning. Tegoshi told him that he hadn’t to worry about anything and that he was perfectly fine, but secretly he hoped Yamapi would call as soon as he would wake up.
