Russia and DDOS

Russian politics are in an uproar, and LJ as the main Russian language blogging platform, gets DDOSed. It makes sense, and I don't blame LJ in the least.

I just hope for Russia that the people can prevail and get a real democracy, just as the Arabic countries did/are doing.

Country domino: Russia!

It is. And they used LJ -- just didn't own it.

They bought it because it is so big there.

yakal, it actually seems the Russians might be more successful, because Arab elections so far resulted in reactionary conservative leaders, often a case after a successful revolution. Russia had been different there, and the fact Putin now has to work with the opposition might be more democratic than the new Arab leaders.

Darn I can't edit replies anymore. Anyway, having just had reason to compare LJ to NaNoWriMo, LJ is doing admirably. The US site NNWM didn't manage to finish their site change over for the whole month of their event (and kept demanding donations every day).
