The woman I have come to associate (and curse) as the face of my sometimes infuriating ISP, Alice -- has been fired.

Justly so, for involvement with the Gaddafis.

I jokingly cursed her for an evil slut when my internet went down, never knowing how far she actually did stoop...

That's not what they fired her for, actually, but for saying that the Gaddafis were just 'normal people' and that the Libyan rebels had it all wrong.

And the ISP is probably not ready to be associated with that kind of opinion, even though a person (even a spokesmodel) is of course entitled to her own idea. However, it's rare to have a brand name associated with one very specific face over so many years. That girls is Alice, and she earned good money from it. So the damage to the brand in view of current public opinion is very real.
