Because there is no way I'm going to have 30 days in a row where I can be sure of posting for at least the rest of this year, quite possibly the rest of my life, the way it feels now.

OMG, I googled that Bigfoot story, and someone's actually charging money for it. Given the available excerpt, I can't imagine any sighted person has paid for it.

I am weirdly heartened to know that the author of this story was indeed somewhat off.

Your recommendation carries enormous weight, so I surely want to check out anything you say is good, but “_______” isn’t much to go on. Do you happen to remember the author’s name?

Someday!

We enter the packing stage today. It's gonna be a long few hours coming up.

I agree regarding fanon vs canon (speaking as a reader), with one general and one specific exception: heroic fanfic efforts to bring continuity to the XF universe kept me watching the show; without the backstory and context provided outside canon, I doubt I would have stayed to the end. I was amused rather than irritated by all the strawberry-scented hair and hotel rooms with one single bed, but one fanon fact remains true for me: Fox Mulder's mother's name is Ruth, NOT Teena.

Good luck with the move!

I could see getting into a certain fanon interpretation that keeps you interested in canon, definitely. But overall it makes me nuts when fanon is used against other stories that see things differently.

Tracked down "Phoenix Burning", and I loved it. Especially what you did with Sumiko, which was awesome. (Angel too, but it was Sumiko that made me shout at the screen in delighted surprise.)

Had already read some on your short list, including the wickedly funny UB fic, so I tried "Tempest-Tost"... and I must agree, in my humble, that it's very Trek.

Oh, man, I rarely hear from new PB readers these days -- the story's more than 10 years old! But so delighted you had fun with it. :D That was the first time I ever had a novel-length idea, and it almost FELL on me that day with all its subplots evolving, and it was a really fun process.

And glad you liked "Tempest-Tost" too. I still can't believe I've only ever done one P/C story.
