Aside from being simply excellent, it awakened a bit of nostalgia in me, as I'm sure it has for most of the rest of my Canadian readers. This lead me to discover this site, and this page in particular. Enjoy!

"Hinterland Who's Who" was a series of 1 minute long nature shorts with a conservation theme produced in the 60s, which were often shown between childrens' shows on Canadian television. Because they are so distinctive, and so much a part of the Canadian Experience(TM), they are frequently parodied by Canadian comedy shows.

I always loved the Hinterland stuff. It really was a part of my childhood, and boy did I enjoy seeing those spiders....
