Ooooh this is interesting. First of all, I lovelovelove the idea of father and son going out to buy a guitar together. So cute. :)

I liked how Carlos was his usual goading self; even after years of not seeing each other he still knows exactly how to push his older brother's buttons. I think my favorite part would have to be when he laid eyes on Gabe because for the first time we see him exude an emotion besides anger. It gave him a slight humanity I felt was necessary. Excellent!

Wow thank you very much! This was an idea I had that I wrote in about 30 mins so I wasn't sure exactly how strong it was.

I have to admit, while I intentionally made Carlos a dick, I didn't set out to make him *so* much of a dick. So I wanted to show that while he is in fact not a nice guy, he's getting to the point where everything he has doesn't make him happy. Seeing Gabe just reminded him that he's a loser, in every sense of the word that matters.

And yes, there will be more of these. =)

Oh ouch... but Carlos deserves it, I guess :) I could practically see the whole thing in my head, very nicely done and I really like the emotions boiling under the surface. Great read, thanks for sharing!
