My first Castle fic!

Summary: My own little way to explaining how Castle "finds out."

Hm... I like your Castle, I can picture him easily the way you describe him... but unfortunately I stopped watching Castle because it was driving me crazy that nothing ever happened! So what exactly is she lying to him about? Hope you'll write more Castle/Beckett! :)

I'm not sure how much you've seen but someone tried to assassinate her. They almost succeed but she lived. While she was bleeding out on the grass, though, Castle was holding her and he told her he loved her. She later tells him she didn't remember anything about the shooting.

Later in a session with the shrink she has to see, she reveals she actually did remember it all. Only in the last few episodes, Castle has found out that she knew so he thinks she kept that from him b/c she doesn't feel the same way. So it's actually been pretty hard to watch lately b/c he's really being a prick.

He feels she was toying with him so he's trying his best to make her feel like shit. This was just a little AU way of how he finds out. In the show he finds out during an interrogation. Oh and she has no idea that he knows she lied. So she can't figure out why he's treating her this way. So now, she thinks he doesn't love her anymore, that she waited too long. It's a mess.

There will definitely be more. They are fun to write.

Oh and I had stopped watching it during season 1. My sister kept telling me to pick it back up b/c it was getting so much better and I have to say, I'm hooked.

You should look into trying it again. It's been painful, but in a good way. The writing is awesome and they play off each other perfectly.

Thanks for the explanation! That actually sounds intriguing, maybe I should get back to watching the show... I always loved their chemistry but it just drove me crazy that they never acted on their attraction to each other. But maybe I gave up too early :) Anyway, I would enjoy to read more Beckett/ Castle from you!

...and speaking of awesome writing... I love it. And I also like your Castle. It's always the flaws that draw me to a character. Probably why I still think Tony and Michelle are one of the best characters ever written - their flaws were both pretty damn obvious, but they also left some stuff up to the imagination.

Beckett is just the same. She has her fears and that infamous wall she built around herself after her mom's murder... but the show's Castle is a little too bland and boring for me, so this is just perfect. Also, your Castle seems a lot more grown up than the one we saw over the course of the past couple of episodes.

Honestly, even though it was fun to see someone from Firefly on the show as a cameo, the episode was bad. After finally moving things along it felt like a dead stop. I'm hoping the small insight they gave us continues to grow in the next episode and on. It looks like *maybe* both of them are starting to get it. At least to the point where they might actually *talk* about it. But, I suspect we won't get anything like that till the finale.

I'm glad you like it. Always scares me to start a new ship. I was just as nervous when I started writing John/Liz from Atlantis. I can see where the current Castle they are portraying would come off that way. But, I think the shrink is right. This is his way of protecting himself. It's childish, but so is Castle. There's only two things that make him change his demeanor from class clown to adult and that's Alexis and Beckett. So, I agree with how the writers are doing it, even if I want to slap the shit out of him.

Oooooh that was very well done. I can totally imagine Castle doing that. He doesn't seem to know when it's the time to stop pushing. I just wished they talked it out, but it works this way as well. In a way, this is where they are in the show, he thinks she' plain lied to him, he's hurt and she doesn't understand what's going on. But here, she is pretty exposed. I don't mean to pressure you in any way, but if you care to continue from here, I would love to read more.

I knew they had to come up with some way of him finding out, but I really thought what they used (the interrogation) was a bit silly. I mean it really was a stretch if you ask me. She's trying to connect with the suspect so he'll tell her what she wants to know, so of course she's gonna make him feel like she knows what he's going through. How does that automatically equal that she lied? I don't know, I just thought it was lazy. But hey, they make the big bucks, not me.
