I just realized something

I'm pro-life.

Like, seriously pro-life.

Yep, that's right.  Me, the dirty hippie who only flushes the toilet when, well, you know.

I realized this just now when I was thinking about why I don't like guns.  IT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE FOR KILLING THINGS.  Killing = bad  <==> Life = good ( Read more... )

Does Hartman/McKean's law apply when you're correcting your own typo?

:) Glad to be back, though I don't really know if I'm actually back or if this is just an anomaly brought on by general infuriation with our country. Today the infuriation motivated me (briefly) to write something, but usually it (along with all the work-related guilt) just cripples me.

I probably would have done something dumb like squash the moth, and then tried to follow it up with a funny line like that. Picture a room full of traumatized freshman (sic), and that's why it's probably a good thing there are no undergrads in my department.

I've been meaning to respond to your "turnip in pants" comment, but every time I try to, I'm all like "hee hee, turnip in pants", and then I'm too distracted to say anything intelligent. Ok, wait, I'm going to go respond right now...

Hey, good to see you, as clunis said.

I think your point is interesting. I guess it's just legacy -- who calls themself what and how much press they get how fast.

For example, i detest the fact that negative connotations have gotten stuck on so many of our sexual terms. I personally think "fuck" is a beautiful word that should be used to express something that rocks as much as fucking rocks. Something that "sucks dick" is something i think i'd like, personally, all other things being equal, over something that does not. *shrug* It pisses me off that somehow all these terms became hateful and degrading, y'know?

Ah, well.

I don't know, I kind of like the use of "fuck" for emphasis. As in "Fucking awesome!!!" or "Fuck, yeah!"

You could try taking back the other terms, though I have to admit I'd kind of like to see others facial expressions when you're all "Thanks, man - you suck!" That would be fucking cool.

No, i'm all about "fuck" for positive purposes. That's my point! Something that's "fucking awesome" is like as awesome as fucking!!
