Two very different drabbles written for the
jackwill challenge “caprice" but neither of which contain any actual Jack/Will.
Title: Rum-pot deckhand
Characters: Jack, Will
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: If they were mine, there would have been significantly less plot holes.
Notes: Holy Jeeze, it’s a gen fic! Set post-AWE
Even he didn’t see the storm coming, fast as it blew up. In an open boat, there was little he could do anyway.
Jack goes under and his last thought is: Not again.
The one before that is: But it was such a nice morning.
Then he sucks in air and coughs up seawater all over William Turner Junior’s boots. It doesn’t hurt any more. He feels oddly numb, a little like being in the Locker. It feels like a very temporary Limbo.
“Yes,” Jack says wearily, letting Will pull him to his feet. “Yes I do still fear death.”
Title: Chain of Command
Characters: Will
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: If they were mine, there would have been significantly less plot holes.
Notes: Post-AWE
Will’s crew is made up of notably bad people.
There’s the odd chap who doesn’t need to be doing a hundred years of service. But most of them are bastards, unrepentant or otherwise. They are not an easy crew to command. They obeyed Davy Jones for fear of his cruelty.
Now they obey Will. They didn’t, not at first. Not until he sent three of them on, picked at random, short by fifty years of service at least, and condemned them to whatever they had coming. Will makes crew vanish at his whim, and they obey. Now they fear Will.
