And it's not that I care. It's quite the opposite. But as far as randomest phone calls in my life? Chris takes the cake for that one. And someone called him to randomly let him know. I also never thought I'd play telephone using a telephone. So I called Lyndsey to forward on the most random call of my life.

The news is rocketing about the infosphere at an astounding pace. Every few minutes I see somebody else - an IM, a blog entry - writing "OMG Jackson died".

If meme velocity was a measure of importance, Michael Jackson would be our Dear and Glorious Leader. If he hadn't, you know, died.
