This post will probably get me extremely hated but for those attendees who can't feed themselves because they don't want to:

GROW UP! ACT RESPONSIBLE FOR ONCE!

"But, I have no money."Then why are you in the event to begin with if you are "poor"? At every event, you have to manage your budget. How much are you spending on food? A 5-for-$5 ( Read more... )

I agree with you on all these points.

Con-goers need to stop whining that the place can't satisfy their every daily needs. Not just food, but finding lodging. <.<;

Bleh, don't remind of lodging. Damn kids at ALA. :(

same here dude, I agree with you. If someone starts to act like a total douche because of this simple points, then yeah ignore them. If they want to be confrontational about it at con, kick them out. Simple as that.

Anyone trying to be confrontational to me better have a legit point so that things can be worked out. Though I can easily calm people down, there's a thin line on where that can be crossed.

It was some responses from SacAnime that occurred during the weekend. Even though SacAnime provided a LOT of Venom Energy Drinks, some people complained about some staffers getting food. Maybe the drinks were WAY TOO MUCH for these already-hyper kids to handle. Sadly, some of those complainers were between the ages of 19-25, which is very sad to hear about the maturity levels.

ALA was very generous to offer food to people, which caught me by surprise! For being a pretty pricey $50 con, this alone is definitely a reason to go to most of these kids, not to mention by doing the math, they are practically spending as if they are going to a con that costs $20-$35 if planned properly, maybe even less. Food may be limited (I see them run out of food at some points), but gotta thank those who donated money or staff who planned this. I really want to go back again, but scheduling conflicts prevent that from happening. T_T

SDCC gives food away!? I should keep that in note since I plan on going there instead of Anime Expo.

LOL SDCC con suite consists of Lays potato chips with dips, um... Sodas( you name it, they most likely have it.. they had hawaiian punch to my surprise) pretzels and M&Ms ALA has a better spread... but its part of the con you pay for... also its in the Marriot hotel next to the convention center. you have to REALLY want it.

I'm ready to nom and entire buffet when I go to Anime Vegas. I love having a nice, filling meal during con. Living on adrenaline will only get you so far, and it's rather an unhealthy way to live.

The very thought of a buffet sounds nice right now...

reminds me of an editorial someone wrote for SR.com once:

In addition, I will commend Fanime for having food available at the Hilton and Marriott at a reasonable price ($5 meals). I normally spend $15 per meal only because I like something that's not fast food and that's more of a sit down type of meal. Yet, having a $5 grab and go at con is a nice thing too.

Agreed on the editorial a lot, though Spaghetti + Pesto Sauce for some reason gets me the digestive runs sometimes if I don't take lactaid pills or tablets. We actually brought those items listed while wearing our Wii Remote and DS because they have food holders inside. hehe

Buffet sounds nice. Going there tomorrow. mom nom nom

Well said Jonas! I felt the same way when I was staffing at Fanime like people would ask me for food but I would feel HELLA bad because it was for the STAFFERS not for anyone else ;__;.

I agree people need to be responsible and take initiative for themselves because DUDE u can like go to the freaking DOLLAR STORE and get some snacks and good GEESH!

And second off, I NEVER heard of a con that gives away FOOD lol... XD

I actually agree on the Dollar Store as they do sell some burrito packages and sandwiches.

Some cons give a limited amount:
- SacAnime and SacCon: Venom Drinks
- Anime Los Angeles: Peanut Butter and Jam sandwiches, snacks
- San Diego Comic-Con: Various provisions of food
- Castle Point Anime Con: Tentacle Grape, though that company can go to hell.

Staffing Fanime!? I didn't know you staffed. hehe. XD
