Shifting sands
across the plain of friendship
deceive like a mirage
does a traveler in the dunes;
the water of constancy
quenches thirst falsely,
and I drew too close
ere I noticed it was gone.
Lies are bought and sold
more dearly
than the purest piece
of crystalline truth;
mistakes are made
at bargain price,
but an apology costs too much.

How sad, baby. I'm so sorry this whole thing happened to you. How is your heart doing? I think about you daily. Are you still thinking about coming back to the NW in a year?
