my christmas was going fine but my bloody mother always has to go and spoil everything.  she never tells us what she wants so ruins the christmas present opening by bitching about what we all get her.  she makes a christmas dinner which is lovely and all but then goes on about how tired she is and goes to sleep.  she decides to watch tv instead of ( Read more... )

*hugs*
my sister is similar. My mother bought her something that she already went out and bought earlier, even though she knew that mum had got it for her. =/ Anything we buy her comes with receipt attached, so she can take it back, or we just give her money.

I think Dawn French put it very well when she was on whichever morning new programme. Our parents bitch at us in a sort of natural defence so that when we have to leave they don't feel as hurt, as a slightly warped coping mechanism.

*hugs again* I hope you feel somewhat happier tomorrow. :)

Aw, just remember that during the holidays chocolate does not contain any calories, but only teh yummy ;)

Buh hey, she doesn't heat (to save money) but all but forces you to shower TWICE A DAY IN WINTER? o_O? Not logic. Warm water is also expensive!! (XD expensive enough for my mom to nag me to go to the gym more often... and use their shower instead of showering at home XD [of course I DO ALWAYS take a shower after the gym!XD])

My family also hates board games... Luckily I have some friends who just adore these (to an extent that sometimes I am slightly overwhelmed by the complexity of certain games o_O)

Girl, you are of age already, arent't you? And it is not like you would stink, I assume... Sometimes one has to tell even the people one has to respect to shove it (even if it be in more polite wording ^^)
(If my mother would dare to raise her voice at me for not showering AGAIN in one day... o_O well then, but every family has their own dynamics ;) )
