@5 B-But there's loads of them in the webcomics..? But I see where you're coming from, I want them in the anime... When I saw Greece in the anime, even if it was with France, I rewatched, and rewatched, and rewatched, and rewatched, and rewatched...

@14 It's okay, you don't have to force yourself. Some pairings just don't work for some people, and I don't really see then charm in Austria/Hungary or Russia/Lithuania either...

@16 Dude why do I think it's totally canon that it's happened off-screen. x'D Maybe not that they kissed, but that Poland's at least kissed Lithuania for one reason or another.

I was trying to remember from the official manga and I couldn't think of very many times BUT I WROTE THIS AT OH I DUNNO 12:30 IN THE MORNING plus I was watching Michael Jackson so I wasn't really thinking about it. But yeah, there is loads of evidence. 8D;;

Russia's creepy, but he's too childish to be the murderous horror character he's often made out to be.

I'll be honest, the image of Austria and Hungary as a couple is pretty cute or classic, but I'm just not for them as a romantic couple. :< I think they'd totally make the best of friends, though.

Poland and Liet just have that sort of relation. 8D

Well, not to mention the strips that center around Greece and Japan hanging out, there's actually a few random ones where they're portrayed together for no adequately explored reason. So I suppose they do spend reasonable amount of time in each other's company and get fairly well along. I kind of like how, despite their differences in character, their relationship is not insanely dysfunctional. I find it cute<3

And Russia. I shouldn't dislike Russia, because I know that dislike should really be directed towards his fandom... No, he's not cruel cruel. He's lonely and doesn't know how to express or recieve love anymore. He tried so very hard to make his people love him, he did everything he could, but they still hated him. He didn't know what was wrong, and now, he doesn't know what's right. All he wants is to be special to someone, to have a close bond with someone, to have someone like him. Poor Russia. He clearly misses his youth when he had his siblings there for him. I think his tormenting nature is born out of people doing the same thing to him, it's how he finds control in his life (the country doesn't exactly have a butterflies-and-sunshine history...).

And I can totally see Austria and Hungary more as parent figures living together than a married couple, if that makes sense. Since I try to look at it from an unbiased perspective, I view them as caring for each other, but I don't really feel the "couple" vibe going on.

Honestly, I'd rather see Canada topping rather than the other way around, if it came down to that particular pairing >_>;; Non-bigeyed-uke-Canada is actually really cool (and there's this artist on devArt who draws him just asdjhfdkas)

Yeah, about Austria/Hungary...Austria and Hungary are of course historically canon, but I can't see Hetalia!Hungary changing herself and not beating things up settling down for long enough to be romantically attached to a prim-and-proper aristocrat like Austria, which is why I honestly see her more with Prussia. At least they're both insane, and there's some camaraderie in that that could develop into something better. Hungary might have a *crush* of sorts on Austria, but that != real romantic attraction or a truly functional relationship.

...but then I can't stand Spain/Romano, because it generally ends up with Romano being a whiny bitch. S:

Maybe I'm just overly patriotic, but I love seeing Canada as a huge badass. Although he's generally depicted as pretty spineless orz. I'm kind of hoping eventually he'll be shown with some balls (because historically, we've done some pretty insane stuff). If it were to happen at all/I was given a choice, I'd definitely say Canada/America, but I can't see it happening that way.

I like respecting Austria/Hungary fans as much as I possibly can maybe because some of them scare me otl, but I just can't see them working out for the same reasons you stated. I'll hand it to them, they do look like a cute/classic couple and I could actually see the two as extremely good friends (and for the sake of being objective, they do care about each other in canon, fans do what they want with that), but I just can't seem to get interested in it. I guess character dynamic is one of the main reasons why Prussia/Hungary has so much support -- I'll admit I prefer that pairing ( ... )
