I really enjoyed reading this. You have a beautiful style, and perfectly balanced descriptions and actions. It is really fluent!
Also, I really like the story. It was a simple prompt, yet you created a beautiful world with lovely characters.

I love hearing what others liked - thanks for sharing :) In my head, Alfred always has to fiddle with something; it's usually a phone, but it looks like it's his screwdriver/other tools in this verse.

*rolls around in this universe* It's getting quite complicated, so I'm going to take more time and finish writing the entire first arc (oh help, I'm dividing this into arcs already) before posting, just so I can go back fix giant plot holes or continuity issues. OMG I sure as well enjoyed this <3 There's something really appealing about Alfred and Arthur's dialogue--I bet that Alfred's nonchalant ways were just as surprising to us as they were to Arthur.

I had some trouble pinning down Alfred in this universe (engineer/barista on his off hours, haha like I know a lot about either) so I'm happy you're enjoying his characterization and his interaction with Arthur. Goodness knows he surprised me a few times as I wrote him.

I want to write moreeeee but work is driving me insane as usual. But I'm having luck writing things in bits and pieces so I'm at least getting somewhere!
