1) I think that Arthur is so warm and caring, he's like Alfred's elder brother. You know, they actually remind me of Yao and Kiku.
2) I bet that Arthur isn't the only nation who wants Germany dead during WW2, muahaha.

Yao doesn't seem to fixate on Kiku in "modern" day as Arthur seems to do with Alfred, though. But yes, the relationships between the nations are complex enough that you can interpret them in many ways =)

Oh yes, Arthur is just at the top of that list because of the bombing of London and Coventry. I'm sure France and Poland would love to string Germany up too XD

Thank you for reading!

This is simply too awesome for words snappy8000 December 26 2009, 01:41:54 UTC
Can I just say I love you here? This has got to be one of the greatest US/UK fics I've read. I just love how you explore their relationship and how their interaction changes over time (and your characterisation of Alfred and Arthur is fantastic). And the Shakespeare references, well, what can I say? I'm in love here, haha. Thank you <3

Sorry it took me so long to read. Holidays can make one oh so very busy.

BTW, is that Owl City I spot there?

=DDDDD I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and no worries about taking so long to read it - I know this time of the year is crazy for most people. Thank you so much for all your kind words! The Shakespeare worked out well once I started digging a little bit. I love their long-term, historic-based relationship the best - that's what makes this couple stand out for me - and my muse totally exploited that.

Ironically, one of the two parts I wanted to put in this fic didn't even make it into this first part. I guess you could say I wrote the first three sections to build up to the Romeo and Juliet and the last segment ^^;;. It'll take me a few more days to get it up, since I've been sick the past few days, but I do hope you'll like that part too =)

It is indeed Owl City =D I looped On The Wing while I was writing the R&J part, it's my favorite song on the album ♥
