Doing what you want to do and doing it for a pay cheque, are totally different. But I've seen people who do it for the pay cheque and do an excellent job because sometimes, they have no choice. They make the best of the situation and live on their lives. My parents, for exmaple, fall into that category.
itsh an eksh-kwizzshit PEESH. vut iz di RATE? iz it LESS PRICE? i vunt size "M". i vunted large, not GRAND LARGE -me: grand is just the french word for large
Wow that was so sweet of that woman to write that. I do enjoy reading your nursing posts. It's nice to see someone so passionate about what they do, and someone who seems to really have "it together". Good luck to you!
i hear story about b*tchy people in the healthcare profession all the time (from my dad and bf). i just don't understand how you can be in healthcare, and not care for your patients? i mean, isn't that the whole point of the job?
it's refreshing to hear about people that really love and enjoy not only their job, but their impact on other people/patient/patron's life =)

Not always. Money plays a big role. But sometimes, the money can only last for so long. I knew people who went into a health care profession for reasons related to money. They didn't last long and dropped the profession all together. Some, unfortunately, are still in the game. It's really just a matter of time.
well what i meant was "it's the purpose of the job", to care for patients' health, emotion, psychological well-being.
and trust me, i've heard my share. some people i go to school with, who are planning to apply to dent/med with me make me want to dump them in a shredder =P
when i ask them "so, what are you planning to do/specialize in once you get into med/dent". MANY (espcially the asian ones... not trying to stereotype!) just say "i dunno. who cares? i'm going to be a doctor and make loads of cash!!".
well, i guess that's what makes people like us more distinct from them. if they were like us, we wouldn't be special at all =D
