Well, it has been one year exactly since last year's massive ice storm that left us without power for 8 days. It is freezing rain and has been since about 8 this morning. I took the local storm spotting workshop this morning at Richland, and it was awesome. I learned a lot, and I took ten pages of notes. I also ran by the library on my way home and checked out two books on storms just so I can study some more. And March has come in like a lion. We had a tornado warning here at work and had to head to the hallway. First time that's happened since I've worked here. It was kind of exciting. My mom called, however, and told me the power at home is off. Again.

Pray that it's back on soon because I don't like power outages. :P Thanks.

We are now under an ice storm warning til Monday morning. *headdesk* So yeah. Send warm thoughts my way in case the power goes out :P

ETA: And quickly, before we lose power...someone throw me some Chloe/Dean, Chloe/Sam, Sam/Chloe/Dean plot bunnies so I'll have something to do!!

Just in case you don't hear from me for a few days...we're supposed to have more freezing rain tomorrow, and more Saturday and Sunday mixed with sleet and snow.

So tomorrow? I'm going out to stock up on batteries in case we lose power for days. Again. Hopefully they won't be needed. *crosses fingers*

Well, our power is back. But not well. We're having major power surges that we think may have zapped our deep freeze and possibly our washing machine. The lights will go all bright and then very very dim, and then very bright and so on and so forth. So it's Tuesday and I'm at work. The power's still not back on at home. It doesn't look hopeful for it returning by the weekend, sadly. We are staying warm thanks to a generator that we use every couple hours to kick the heat on. It's been quite an experience, I'll tell ya. I'll give more details later ( Read more... )

We've been without power since 9:15 Thursday night. In fact, it's still out. I came in to work for a bit to check email and update this in case anyone was worried.

So we're under a weather storm warning. It rained ALL night. We've probably got...oh I dunno, two inches. It's still raining and the temp is dropping. Which means by noon, this will be freezing rain.
