I just met someone on Jnet2 who literally lives five miles from me.

I have never, in my ten years of being in fandom, met someone online that is anywhere NEAR where I live.

That is just...buckets of crazy.

fandom: general, show: jericho

I'm not sure, but it's very possible. :) It'd be silly not to considering we live so close and are fighting to save the same show!

My best friends now I met in online fandom over 10 years ago. Now, thanks to one of them, we all reside in the same city. We've all gone into our own separate fandoms but are still pretty close. I'm still in touch with a few other friends I met in the same fandom, a few on LJ even.

Most of the time, folks are pretty decent, but you will get a few nutcases here and there.

I have several online friends that I love dearly whom I met through fandom--but they live states, and some--live countries away from me. :)

As you know, we meet great people through fandom ;)

One of my best friends now, we went to the same high school and ate lunch at tables literally two feet away from each other for almost a year. I never would have started talking to her if it wasn't for Joan of Arcadia.

The weirdest/coolest situation I've had as far as living near a friend I met online; he was married to my sister's best friend!
