This was so spooky and really gave me the creeps! And yay for "A Rose for Emily" reference! That's my favorite Faulkner short story.

I have to admit it's the only Faulker story I know haha. We had to read it in freshman English in college and I wrote a paper on it.

I really really liked this! There's so much understated creepiness that just works perfectly. From setting it up with a great location, to the mention of "A Rose for Emily", to the fairly 'simple' but effective haunting, this just hit the right tone. Happy Halloween!

Thanks! I'd never written a scary story before but I've watched way more than my fair share of ghost shows on TV. Some of it must have rubbed off :)

Hahaha I kept thinking about Abed's scary story for the Halloween episode last year and how getting out was the logical thing to do.

I was at a restaurant that was in a building from the 1700's on the Jersey Shore one time that has reputation for being haunted. I was with my cousin in the bathroom on the second floor that had one of those swinging doors and it swung open and closed really fast, we ran out to look and WE WERE THE ONLY ONES UPSTAIRS. And we had JUST been making fun of the supposed "lady in white" when it happened! Creeped me the fuck out. Hopefully the place didn't get destroyed in the hurricane.
