Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
madams et monsieur’s and everyone in between
Cirque du Gender Play is proud to present
EUPHORIA
the queerest show on earth!
Come one, come all and witness this exhilarating gender euphoric spectacle where all is not as it seems and what was is not what will be and where we are is not where we were. Enter into the infinite spectrum of possibility.
Be amazed as young people cut themselves in half, are made invisible, swallow insults, taunts, and ridicule, crumble under the weight of labels and yet live to tell the tale…
Shiver in terror at the house of horrors where dreams are abandoned, promises broken and young people are forced to live in confined spaces bound to centuries old binary gender system…
Watch in wonder as these very young people overcome all the odds to survive, live, and thrive in a world that offers them few choices….
After the smash success of last year’s Binary City, the Gender Play project is back again. Gender Play is an exciting project for queer, trans and questioning youth designed to explore the topic of gender through theatre, song, poetry and dance. The project is hosted by Central Toronto Youth Services, through the Pride and Prejudice Program. 10 youth have worked collaboratively over the past eight months with lead artist and director Tristan R. Whiston choreographer Kathleen Rea, project coordinator LeeAndra Miller and guest artist Anna Camilleri (writer) to create EUPHORIA.
