We are in week four of Project iPod, wherein I give up beer (and all other alcoholic beverages) and put the money towards an iPod fund (kind of like lent, except I've replaced god with an iPod). It's been going pretty well. I have significantly decreased my alcohol consumption, although I did order a beer at the Arlington Drafthouse last night. ( Read more... )

I used to burn a lot of music to CDs, and those CDs get boring very quickly. The iPod is much more fun with being able to have all of your music at your disposal and not knowing what song will come on next.

And have you tried a cheaper option? I mean, iPods aren't very reliable, they're expensive, and the only rason people like them is because they're hip. Well if the intention of having one is rocking out, go for one that's cheaper. It'll probably hold up better, and you'd be able to just return it to wherever you bought if anything goes wrong.

And wanting music isn't a first world craving. In fact, in the poorest countries they hold music in high regard because it's all they have.
