Letter to God (I'm going to hell for this...)

Apr 13, 2008 15:39

Well, I want to start off by apologizing to anyone that might be offended by this letter, starting with "God" himself. God, I’m sick and tired; exhausted and weak (if you really do exist and know about everyone and what they think, you should know this already). I’m tired of always having to deal with weird looks when I say I’m agnostic. I’m sick ( Read more... )

You are on the right track, if you are sincere in what you're saying.

Don't go to religion, but do try the bible again. This time, ask God to argue his case so you can understand it.

Good hunting.

Ok... I know you meant it in a metaphorical way, but "ask God to argue his case"? I don't think I know how to do that... and it's not that I don't understand it, it's just that it doesn't make sense to me. -With all due respect, of course ;)-

You don't have to worry about offending me. I'm a Jew who believes Jesus is Messiah; that's gotten me kicked out of the club and I don't think I can have any worse punches given to me.

What I meant was, if G*d is real, and you honestly and earnestly go through the bible you will find he proves himself. If you go looking for something to make you mad, you will find that, and miss what's underneath it. Incidentally, humility is required and most of us can't swallow that pill.

Religion is man getting between you and G*d. Most of your letter is aimed not at G*d or the bible, but what people have done with it. It's much like what Jesus told the Jewish "church leaders" in Matthew 23. He's condemning those who presume to speak for G*d. He also threw the bastards out of the Temple with a whip. He hates hypocrisy, too.

Precisely. I hate the fact that religious leaders want to tell people things that they THEMSELVES don't know. I'm not against God, but I am completely against religion and it's little sugar-coated control mechanism. And fanatism is SO annoying. People are blinded and can't even think for themselves -let alone think rationally-. I think most of it is bullshit, but I see you got my point. Also, the way you interpret everything has a lot to do with faith and your life experiences, and that varies from person to person. So thanks for commenting and taking the time to read it. I appreciate it =).
