Rose and Maia's flat, Sunday night.

Rose burst through the door to the apartment, the Doctor just behind her. Near panicked, she called out for Maia.

"Maia? Mai, please, where are you? Maia?" Rose was in quite a state, and she looked as though she'd stared death in the face. Again, but who's counting? "Maia!"

Maia had just stepped from the shower on Rose's last call. "Rose?" She said in an excited voice, she grabbed her robe and ran into the living room. "Oh God I was so worried until I heard from you." Maia said about to throw her arms around Rose but stopping short when she saw her face.

"Baby?" Maia's voice sounded fearful as she looked at her. She took very slow steps towards her now, worry etched on every line of her face.

Falling against Maia, Rose wrapped her arms around the woman she loved. "God, I was so scared I'd never see you again," she said before kissing Maia deeply.

When the two of them pulled apart, the Doctor cleared his throat. "See? Told you I'd bring her back to you in one piece, Maia," he said with a cheeky grin.

"Yeah, after you almost left me in another universe," Rose snarked back over her shoulder, unwilling to take her eyes off Maia.

"Oh, come on. You knew I wouldn't leave you behind, Rose," he protested cheerfully as he winked at Maia. "She's fine. Just like I promised."

Maia touched Rose's face for a moment, her fingers brushing over her cheeks and then her lips. She returned the kiss, her hands sliding to her back as she hugged her close. "I knew you were in trouble when you didn't get back in time for tea." She whispered. She kissed Rose again to make sure she was real. Hugging her close again she looked at the Doctor over Rose's shoulder and mouthed 'thank you' to him. She wasn't about to let go of her lover to hug the Doctor just yet.

Smiling at Maia, Rose nodded. "He promised. No way was he getting out of that one. Sorry we were late," she said as she bit her lip gently. Letting go of Maia, she turned to face the Doctor. "And you! Daleks and Cybermen and a Gallifreyan prison ship! I'll have you know I'm taking some time off," Rose said with a raised eyebrow as she poked him in the chest.

"How was I supposed to know what it was? Not that it matters now. Everything's all back in the void where it belongs." The Doctor winked at Maia again and nodded his head as a sort of "of course" gesture. He hugged Rose close and kept an arm around her shoulders as Maia came over to the two of them. "So, Maia. How about that tea?" he asked innocently.
