[Plot Threads] Work Experience

Sep 09, 2013 20:57

In case people are having trouble with coordinating plots due to those pesky pesky timezones, I'll be setting up a space here for a semi-open log. There will be threads for each internship posting and you can meet your fellow interns there! Be it a boring day at the office...or something crazy :)

Chinen yawned as he stood leaning against a tree, watching as his shadows cleared away debris from a mountain road that had been blocked off due to a bad storm. The heavy downpour had caused a mudslide, sending dirt, rocks, and even trees tumbling down across the road. As a result, instead of getting some construction vehicles out there to remove it like normally would have been the case, Division 6 had decided to send some of their rookies out to take care of it instead. Which just so happened to include him, much to his displeasure. Though while the work was tedious, uninteresting, and dirty, he supposed it was still better than being stuck back in Division 6's offices, doing mind-numbingly boring tasks and running stupid errands for their superiors who were too lazy to do the work themselves. He had already come very close to pouring a pitcher of coffee in the lap of one self-important sempai who kept making him go and get a new cup of coffee each time it didn't taste exactly how he liked it. Instead, he had opted for just spitting ( ... )

Tezuka loaded up another rock into the wheelbarrow beside him and then paused to wipe some sweat from his face with the towel around his neck. He looked over at Chinen who was in the shade and looked to be fairly bored but was actually hard at work clearing the path with his powers. Tezuka found it quite impressive and considered if his own powers would work.

He supposed the chances of there being enough metals in the rocks to make them susceptible to his magnetic powers was slim. But perhaps he could manipulate the shoves, wheelbarrow and other tools with his powers. He considered it for a long moment, looking at the shovel near his feet and then gave up on the idea. His control was still quite dubious and he didn't need to accidentally harm any of his fellow students just because he was tired of the monotonous and grueling labour.

At the sound of labored breathing nearby, Chinen slowly turned away from his task to take notice of Tezuka caught up in his own work. Raising an eyebrow at the other intern's vain attempt to do all of this heavy work by hand, he couldn't help but point out what he imagined should've been obvious to most others. "You know, you'd get more done if you tried using your abilities instead of trying to do it the Normie way. Probably would go a lot faster and easier for you too." He called out in a bored tone, his work continuing uninterrupted in front of him as he spoke, almost to prove his point.
